139,678 tons of goods entered Gaza in December

During the month of December, 4,373 trucks carrying 139,678 tons of goods entered the Gaza Strip from Israel through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
Of the trucks, 1,242 were carrying food, 1,218 were carrying construction materials, 148 were carrying agricultural inputs, 63 were carrying clothes and footwear, 137 were carrying electric products, and 281 were carrying ceramics and plumbing. Transportation of cooking gas into the Gaza Strip continued with 3,446 tons.

The transfer of goods to Gaza is coordinated by the Israeli government and IDF as well as Palestinian and international organizations.
176 building projects run by the international community in the Gaza Strip have been approved. 37 projects have been completed and 75 additional projects are in progress.
During December, 3,295 Palestinians entered Israel from the Gaza Strip via the Erez Crossing with the help of COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories). 1,371 exit permits for medical treatment were issued.
During the month, 1,369 Palestinian businessmen exited the Gaza Strip.
COGAT assists in matters of health, education, agriculture and infrastructure on a daily basis.
COGAT is a unit within the IDF responsible for transport of aid into the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It works with the Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) of the Gaza Strip and West Bank's Civil Administration to facilitate entrance of supplies such as gas, building materials, electrical appliances, ceramic parts, wheat and other foods, hygienic products and more.
